Altone Robinson

 

Altone Robinson, 90, of Edna,passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
Services will be Tuesday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Edna. Burial will follow at Hines Cemetery.

August Liberda

August Eugene Liberda, 85 years young, completed his journey here on Earth at 4:30am, Saturday April 20, 2013, after a courageous battle with mesothelioma. He was at home, surrounded by his loving family at the time of departure.
He is survived by his daughter Charlotte Liberda of Houston, son Curtis Liberda of Dallas, their mother Marian Sablatura of Houston, brother Roland Liberda of Lafayette Louisiana, and extended family of nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Georgia Scheffer of Houston.
August was born in Hallettsville, Texas on January 28, 1928, to the late August Louis Liberda and Julia Krauskopf-Liberda, moving to Ganado at the age of 2. 
He attended Ganado High School, and immediately after graduation, at the age of 17, he joined the US Navy in 1945, proudly serving during WW ll, where he was stationed in the Marshall Islands.

Ronald Klekar

 

Ronald J. Klekar went to be with his Lord on April 7, 2013 at the age of 66.
He was born Sept. 12, 1946 and raised in Ganado. After graduating, he joined the Marines to serve his country. Ron lived most of his life in the Pasadena area and spent most of his career in sales, and later worked on the Port of Houston for several companies. Ron was also a proud Mason and a member of the American Legion.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Viola Klekar, older brother LJ Klekar and closest life friend, Mike Sprouse. 
Ron is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Klekar, twin brother Donnie Klekar and wife, Helen, and the special partner in his life, Nora Dugan. He’s also survived by many extended family members and special life friends.
Ron was well-known and loved by many, and “never met a stranger.” His love of life and people, practical jokes and beautiful, loud, contagious laugh will be missed by many.
