Helen Mauritz, 97 of Ganado passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013. She was born on April 15, 1916 in El Campo to the late C.C. Isaacson and Meata Lauritsen Isaacson. She was a resident of Ganado for 79 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Marsha (husband Marcus) Streng, and a son, D.Charles (Chuck) Mauritz. Also surviving are five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marcus; sons, Pat and Jon Ton Mauritz; sisters Irene Isaacson and Lillian Elam; and a brother, Lawrence Isaacson.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m., at the St. James Lutheran Church in Ganado with Pastor Chris Heinold officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the St. James Lutheran Church, 900 So. Third St., Ganado.
