Minnie Zapalac

Minnie S. Zapalac, 87, of Port Lavaca, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013. She was born in Edna on March 21, 1926 to the late Hugo and Lottie Hoffman Sturm.
She married George Zapalac at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Port Lavaca on Nov. 20, 1951.
Minnie enjoyed gardening and always had a large vegetable garden. She also loved to cook and bake and play dominoes with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sophie Sturm, and brothers Hugo Sturm and Rudolph Sturm.
She is survived by her husband George Zapalac, son Robert Zapalac, brothers, Fritz Sturm and wife Geraldine, William Sturm and wife Dianna, and Max Sturm and wife Roberta, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm on Monday, April 15 at the Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, April 16 at the Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
