Patsy Gerdes Alvarez

Patsy Gerdes Alvarez, of Edna, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at the age of 69. She was born May 25, 1943, in Beaumont to the late Dee Witt and Jewel Faust Quinn.
Patsy was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, whom will be missed dearly. Her time on earth was cherished by all that knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Belinda Dodds and husband Mike of Edna and Lisa Weiss and husband Ron of Paris; sons, Anthony Gerdes, Mark Gerdes and wife Kathy, John Gerdes and wife Cheryl, all of Edna; one sister, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, from 5-7 p.m., at Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 18, also at Oaklawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Memory Gardens of Edna Cemetery. Brother Steve Brandon and Brother Sherrel Mercer will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Gerdes, Mark Gerdes, John Gerdes, Shawn Dodds, Kyle Dodds, Jeremy Gerdes and Kevin Gerdes.
Honorary pallbearers are, Mike Dodds, Ron Weiss, Anthony Gerdes Jr. and Chris Gerdes.
Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna. 361-782-2221.
