Cobras play a close game

The Lady Cobras played two games on Sept. 3 in Yoakum, against Yoakum high and Beeville's Jones high school. They triumphed over Beeville, three game to zero, 25-10, 25-9 and 25-13, but lost to Yoakum, three games to zero, 26-24, 25-14 and 25-13.

Cowboys get pounced

Our Edna Cowboys played against the refugio Bobcats and unfortunately lost 42-19, but not without putting some points on the board. Edna started out the night winning the coin toss and deferring to Refugio.

Teen takes win at state 4-H contest

Courtney Mercer has had an excellent start to her senior year of school at Ganado high. She is highly involved in 4-H and just repesented Jackson County with her recordbook at the district and state level under the project category of Family Life, and winning first place at both levels. She is 17 and the daughter of Donnie and Julie Mercer of Ganado.
