Ganado junior high volleyball tournament results

Ganado hosted a 7th and 8th grade A team tournament on Sept. 18-20.  Results are as follows:
7th grade
1st - Hallettsville
2nd - Rice Cons.
3rd - Louise
Consolation - Palacios

8th grade
1st - Hallettsville
2nd - Rice Cons.
3rd - Palacios
Consolation - El Campo St. Phillips

Ganado also hosted a Prairie Lea game on Sept. 23.  Prairie Lea 7th grade A team defeated Ganado's 7th grade A team in 3 games.  Prairie Lea 8th grade A team defeated Ganado's 8th grade A team in 2 games.

Maidens play to win

Ganado's Lady Maidens played against the Prairie Lea Indians there and won in three games, 25-20, 26-24 and 25-8. Coach Bryan Branch said he came into the game a little nervous because of their opponent's record, but glad the team didn't quit.

Indians tame the TIgers

As the sky threatened to open, the Ganado Indiands improved to 3-1 for the season, squeaking out a victory over the Tidehaven Tigers (1-3) on Sept. 20 with a final score of 10-7.

The Industrial Cobras tied 7-7 with the Louise Hornets in a canceled homecoming game on Sept. 20 due to excessive lightening.

Victoria Venom baseball team

Victoria Venom, a 14U select baseball team, played this past weekend in their first tournament of the 14U fall season. The 2013 September to Remember 1 was held in Spring at the Spring Klein Baseball Park. The Venom made it to the championship game and lost by two runs, but came home with plaques for runner up.
