Demons devil Thunder to championship loss

The championship game of the Baseball Community League was played Sunday at the Veterans Memorial Stadium in LaGrange.
The Jackson County Thunder lost to the LaGrange Demons, 3-2, in 10 innings.
Diehard fans drove over two hours to reach the game, only to discover the rain making its mark on the field. The game began after a three-hour delay.
Both Thunder and the Demons have had a rivalry that started before Sunday when LaGrange beat Jackson County last year, 4-3.
Pitcher Kevin Landgrebe started on the mound and pitched nine innings, keeping the Demons at bay. He kept the game tied at two, and struck-out a total of 10, including five strikeouts in the last two innings.

Thunder rolls to victory

The Jackson County Thunder played an outstanding semi-finals game against Winchester Rifles on Sunday at Shelby Park in Edna, winning 9-7.

The playoff vibe was in the air and in the player's brazen moves, letting the fans from both sides cheer and cajole loudly for their teams. The wind was blwing nicely during the afternoon, allowing the people to concentrate on the game and not the heat.

Both Thunder and the Rifles scored the majority of their points in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, but Thunder kept edging out on top. Both teams scored one in the last two innings, but the game had already been won.
