Industrial and Edna had a bye this week.

First Baptist Church in Edna gives kids an early chance to learn basketball and cheerleading through its Upward Sports basketball program, all while teaching good sportmanship.

The volleyball game between rivals Industrial an Edna was played on Sept. 24, with the Cowgirls on top in three games, but not without the Lady Cobras giving them a run for their money. The finals scores were 25-23, 25-19 and 25-19 on Tuesday night.

The Cobras met up with the Rockport Pirates on their home field Friday night, and at the final whistle the Cobras took the wind out of the Pirate saild with a 28-21 victory.

Ganado Indians No. 17 and No. 67, junior Austin Alford and senior Will Marek hold the Flatonia Bulldogs back with force.

Marquis Broussard pulls out of a Sweeney Bulldog's grip on Friday night. Broussard was largely responsible for the team's success with the help of his teammates.

"Both teams have shown great improvement so far this year," said Brett Nidey, eighth grade volleyball coach. "They are getting better with each game."
