Christopher Erdelt

    Christopher J. 'Chris' Erdelt, 55, of Edna passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014. He was born Dec. 24, 1958, in Ganado to Nettie Miller Erdelt of Murphy, N.C., and the late Leon Erdelt. Chris graduated from Victoria High School. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Cyndi M. Hertz Erdelt of Edna; his mother, Nettie Miller Erdelt; sisters, Ada Braun of Murphy, N.C., Deniece Delane of Bulverde, Ramona Davis and Jackie Erdelt, both of Fredricksburg, Charlotte Erdelt of Houston and Tina Koncaba of Hitchcock; brothers, Leon Erdelt, Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama and Tony Erdelt of Inez.
    A Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m, Thursday, Dec. 18, at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Edna.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Mark K. Braun, Shannon Braun, Clint Davis, Tim Davis, Taylor McChesney, Danny Koop, Pat Wagner and Dan DeLane.

Terra Kubala

Terra Brandyn Kubala
    Terra Brandyn Kubala passed away on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at the age of 16 years. She was born on Dec. 17, 1997, in Katy to Kelly and Terri Kubala. Terra was a sophomore at Cinco Ranch High School, where she excelled in volleyball, basketball, and gymnastics. She loved being with her friends and family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
    She is survived by her parents, Kelly and Terri Kubala; brothers, Nick, Hunter, and Cody Kubala; sister, Macy Kubala; grandparents, Larry and Patsy Kubala, Don Peach and great-grandparents, Reba Rainwater and June Kennedy; niece, Addison; nephew, Noah; as well as other loving family members and friends.
    The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Katy.  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Head officiating. Interment in Katy Magnolia Cemetery.

Timothy Hase

    Timothy Dwayne Hase, 53, of Meodesha, Kan. died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 in Edna. He was born Nov. 12, 1961 in Meodesha, Kan. to Dwayne and Vesta Hase. He was a millwright.
    He is survived by his children, Miranda Hase, Jared Hase and wife, Michelle Polliard of Haslet, Joshua Hase and wife Laraina of Edna, Jason Hase and wife Margo of Port Lavaca, and Jade Gonzales and husband Ricky of Edna; eight grandchildren; brother Steve Schoonover and wife Suzanne of Cape Carancahua; sisters, Lucinda Rodriguez and husband Edward of Edna and Lisa Hase and husband Jaime Dipple of Victoria.
    He is preceded in death by his parents.
    Graveside services were held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna with Rev. Robert Krause officiating.
    Arrangements under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home, Edna, 361-782-2152.

William Hensley

    William Martin Hensley, 60, of Texas City died Nov. 3, 2014 in Victoria. The third son of Carl Ray and Lydia Boehm Hensley was born Feb. 13, 1954 in Wharton. He grew up in Ganado, graduating from Ganado High School in 1973.  After high school, William spent time living with the Franciscans in New Mexico. He earned an Associate Arts degree from Trinity Valley College in Palestine in 1981. William lived most of his adult life in Texas City.

Ortiz and Hernandez children

    Noah David Ortiz, age 15, Nicholas Alexander Ortiz, age 13, Julian Miguel Ortiz, age 11, Lilyana Reighlyn Hernandez, age 6, Areyanah Delyah Hernandez, age 5, all of Edna, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014. They were all born in Victoria. Noah on Feb. 15, 1999; Nicholas on April 26, 2001; Julian on April 24, 2003; Lilyana on Feb. 23, 2008 and Areyanah on May 21, 2009, to David Ortiz, Johnny Hernandez and Annabel Ortiz all of Edna.

Frank Hernandez Sr.

    Frank Hernandez Sr., 69, of Edna, passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014. He was born Nov. 1, 1945.
    He is survived by his wife, Diane Hernandez; five children; three step-children; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    He is preceded in death by his parents.
    A funeral service was at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Ganado Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Andrew Schroer officiating. Interment followed at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
    Services are under the direction of Ganado Funeral Home, 800 S. 3rd St., Ganado, 361-771-2120.

Nancy Fella

    Nancy Louise Fella, 94, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Nov. 30, 2014, at The Home Place assisted living in Ganado, following a long battle with Alzheimer-type dementia.
    She was born March 6, 1920, in Tyler, to John Felix Ward and Mary Lucille Ford Ward. The family later moved to the Clemville area, where she attended school in Markham and met her high school sweetheart and future husband, John Victor (J.V.) Fella. They were married in 1940 and celebrated 68 years of marriage before his death in 2008.

Mryvle "Lonnie" Lindberg

    Myrvle Lon (Lonnie) Lindberg, Sr. passed away on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Edna. He was born Jan. 25, 1935 to Bill and Imogene Lindberg.  He was a long time resident of Wharton and has resided in Edna for the past 13 years.  Lonnie was a hard worker, loved by many and will be missed dearly.
    Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vera Wisnieski Lindberg, and his brother James Arthur Lindberg, Sr.
    Lonnie is survived by his wife Betty Cornelius Lindberg, son Myrvle Lon Lindberg, Jr. (Sharon), daughters Bernadette Kenny (John), Tammy Stanford (Johnny), Diane Williams (James) and Laura Kuritz (Jeff), sisters Billy Jean Webernick, Melba Lindberg and Kay Tucker, also survived by 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

J B Housson

    J B Housson of Ganado passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Nov. 21, 2014, at the age of 87. J B was born on April 23, 1927, in Batson to Joe and Bess Shirley Housson. Upon high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War ll. After completing his military service, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1949 from Sam Houston State Teacher’s College (Sam Houston State University), in Huntsville.

Oscar Singleton

    Oscar Joseph Singleton, 71, formerly of Edna, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 in Friendswood after an extended illness. 
    Oscar was born July 22, 1943 in Edna,  living in Edna and graduated from Edna High School in 1961. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for three years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather to his family.  He worked in the printing business for many years and became a skilled craftsman in his trade. 
    Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Drusilla Singleton.
