The Edna doubles tennis team comprised of Brandon Nidey and Hunter Green placed 3rd at the Regional Tennis Meet and are the alternates for the State Meet.
They won out over George West, 6-4, 6-6(7-3), and beat Schulenburg 7-5, 7-5. They lost to Ingram, the #1 seed, in the semifinals 5-7, 6-3, 2-6, and won out over Refugio 6-6(7-1), 6-6(3-7), 6-2 for 3rd place.

Indians try to make the playoffs

The Ganado Indians played the Louise Hornets on Tuesday, April 8, and lost 6-2. Pitcher Clay Vesely was charged with the loss, but played well, said Coach George Banda.
Leading hitters were Vesely with two singles, Chase Svatek with an RBI double and Thomas Parks hit two singles and an RBI single.
The Indians played Shiner on Friday, April 11, and lost 10-0.
“The bottom fell out after four and a half innings, and it went downhill from there,” said Banda.
Banda said good pitching came from Cameron Martinez, with six strikeouts. Thomas Parks was the Indians’ only basehit.
“We just gotta play, since we’re so youthful, it will depend on how we come out,” said Banda.
