The Edna Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees has employed Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Executive Search Services to assist with the search for a new superintendent. The Board has requested that school personnel and the public be involved in developing qualifications and characteristics of the person the Board should seek to become the new superintendent.

Jonathan Marek, a freshman at Industrial High School, gets a back-to-school hair cut from cosmetologist Laya Clowers at Eddie’s Barber & Beauty Salon in Edna.  Students at public schools in Jackson County will returnto the classrooms on Monday, Aug. 26.

The Vanderbilt cotton gin has been preparing for the season and collecting cotton from the local farmrs to roll it up in bales or stack it in large rectangles.
