Helping control feral cats

At Jackson County Happy Tails, we're working our tails off on several fronts, one of which is the feral cat overpopulation problem.
We recently had a bake sale especially dedicated to raising funds for spaying/neutering of feral cats. We'd like to say, thank you to everyone who donated goodies and who bought goodies. We are so very thankful for all the wonderful community support. We appreciate you all so much.
We are having another bake sale dedicated to cat population control on April 27 in Ganado next to Estella's. Come on out and see us.

Slow down for the kids

The speed of traffic on North Fourth street in Ganado is terribly too fast. It is a residential area and there are always children playing by the road and riding bikes on the road. I really wish someone could do something to stop the speeding.
We have told the Ganado police department and we have seen them patrolling more. The speeding has not stopped the slightest. The children of Fourth Street are in danger every day and I'm quite sure the neighborhood would do better with a stop sign or possibly some speed bumps.
I would feel much better knowing the traffic is slowed down and the children are safe. Thank you.

Eleanor Brackenridge Literary Club says thanks

The Eleanor Brackenridge Literary Club wishes to express our appreciation and gratitude to the citizens of Jackson County for participating in our scholarship fund raiser, “Trivia Night”.   This was the fourth “Trivia Night” and every year the generosity of Jackson County has increased so again this year we will add more scholarships.
The club wishes to thank all who sponsored and participated on a team, donated auction item and purchase items, who purchased meals, participated in the Heads and Tails game or as a spectator.   The “Trivia Night” was fun and very successful. We are looking forward to seeing  everyone in 2014.
