ESD proponents showcase city’s equipment

A public meeting was held at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce building to help educate and answer questions regarding the proposed ESD before the May 11 election.
A panel of individuals representing the Edna Volunteer Fire Department, Edna Fire/EMS Department, ESD No. 3 and the Insurance Services Office each gave a presentation and answered questions afterward. About 35 individuals attended the meeting, mostly from the Edna Volunteer Fire Department and fire/EMS department. Edna Mayor Joe Hermes, Edna City Council Member Maxine Price and Allan Friedrich, Jackson County emergency management coordinator were just a few notable individuals at the two-hour meeting.
