Sybil Tise
Sybil Marie Presley Tise, 94, of Ganado passed away at home in the loving presence of her family on Nov. 2, 2013. She was born on July 5, 1919 in Louise to the late William Henry and Myrtle Morton Presley.
She was a homemaker and a very active member of First Church of God in El Campo. After completing all the education that was available to her in the rural community of Round Mott, she sought to fulfill her nurturing spirit and left her family to become a nurse. She completed her nurse training at Caney Valley Hospital in Wharton. She pursued her nursing career at Bell Hospital in Columbus. While living in Columbus, she met and married Frank Tise in 1944. He being stationed at Foster Field, they moved to Victoria where she worked as a nurse at DeTar Hospital.
With the birth of their first child, she left her nursing career to become a devoted, fulltime wife and mother. She enjoyed all aspects of farm life. She loved to garden and was an excellent gardener. Her Christian beliefs were the foundation upon which she lived her life. Her devotion to family was unwavering through all life had to offer. She taught Sunday school for many years and influenced many people not only by her words but also by the way she lived her life.
Sybil is survived by her daughters Annette Tise of Ganado and Pam Sparks and husband Douglas of Cibolo; sons Darrell Tise and wife Evelyn and Douglas Tise and wife LaRhetta, all of Ganado, grandchildren Michele Svoboda, Melissa Fowler, Lindsay Seifert, Elizabeth Tise, Tara Brezina, Destini Holub, and Mitchell Sparks, 10 great-grandchildren and sisters Johnnie Bell Reeves of Lake Charles, La. and Barbara Nell Wind of Alvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband B.F. “Frank” Tise; and sisters Ina Wyer, Janet Hamilton, Wilma Glaze, Doris Brown and Marjorie Jones.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 4 from noon to 7 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home.The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 - 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home with Revs. Howard Middleton and Carl Schnieder officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in El Campo.
Pallbearers are Douglas Tise, Darrell Tise, J.W. Wyer, Norman Glaze Douglas Sparks and Mitchell Sparks. Honorary pallbearers are James Hurt, Hospice of South Texas, caregivers: Joe Strouhal, Silbia Rocha, and Lillie Robinson.
