Higinio Ramirez

    Gino Ramirez, of Edna, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at the age of 57. He was born in El Nogalito San Luis Poto, Mexico, on Jan. 11, 1956, to the late Julio and Paz Lopez Ramirez.
    He worked at Southbrooke Manor in Edna as head maintenance for 16 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and will be missed by many.
    Gino is survived by his wife of 35 years Josie Garza Ramirez, daughters, Diana Villarreal of Louisiana, and Jessica Barrientes of Edna; sons, Alfred Padron and wife Tania of Colorado, Richard Padron Sr. and wife Laurie of Victoria, Samuel Padron of Edna, Ruben Padron of Austin and Higinio Ramirez Jr. of Edna; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
    Gino is preceded in death by his parents.
    Visitation will be 9 - 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 16, with a funeral service at 11 a.m., at Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna.     Burial will follow in Edna Latin American Cemetery. Rev. Juan Flores will officiate.
    Pallbearers will be Richard Padron Sr., Alfred Padron Jr., Mike Robles, Dylan Alavarez, Rueben Ramirez, Gino Ramirez Jr., Richard Padron Jr. and Clarence Hernandez.
