Harold Fritz

Harold Gene Fritz 79, passed from this life on Thursday Aug. 1, 2013. A resident of Yoakum, Harold was born in Ganado on Nov. 28, 1933 to the late Arly Fritz and Johnnie Mae Webernick Fritz. He was the eldest child and brother to Larry Fritz, Joyce Fritz Magaro, and Arlette Fritz Williams. Harold married Lula Mae Schexnayder of Crowley, La. at the Morales Baptist Church on May 28, 1955. The couple had six children.
Harold is survived by his son Joel Fritz and family of Baytown, son Chris and family of Yoakum, daughter, Johnnie Bernard and family of Ocean Springs, Miss.; daughter Kelly Kurtestch and family of Austin; daughter Carol West and family of Austin, daughter, Jo Ann Longoria and family of El Paso; sister Joyce Magaro of Harlingen; many nieces and nephews, and his friend, Joyce Schellpepper of Yorktown.
Harold was most proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Erica, Carly, Matthew, Cecil, Alicia, Nathan, Gina, Randi, John David, Jr., Olivia "Libby", Jude Barrett and Hyde Dylan.
Visitation will be Sunday Aug. 4 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Ganado Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ganado with Rev. Tony Wishert officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the First Baptist Church of Ganado.
Services are under the directions of Ganado Funeral Home, 800 So. Third St., Ganado, 361-771-2120.
