STAAR scores improving

Ganado Independent School District Board of Trustees reviewed the preliminary results of the STARR and TAKS assessment tests at its July 18 meeting. Ganado ISD students showed some improvement in various areas, but had low scores in English writing.
Ganado ISD students in third through 12th grade improved on their STAAR and TAKS scores in 24 different subject areas. In 22 of 28 subject areas, at least 90 percent of the students passed those subjects. The areas which did not improve were primarily writing and sixth grade and eighth grade science.
