Wayne Gregory

Wayne Gregory, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the age of 54.Wayne was born Sept. 12, 1958 in Yoakum to Lonnie And Ruby Castellow Gregory. Wayne endured a very cruel and demeaning motor neuron disease (ALS).

Wayne worked hard all his life to have things and provide for his family. He worked for many farmers in the area – the Cihal’s, Kallus’s, and Hafernick’s. He also worked in the oilfiled industry with StoneWell Service and Joe Ferguson WaterWell Service.

Wayne’s true passions were hunting, gardening and tractors, and teaching his children and grandchildren family traditions and values. He took pride in all he did and had, keeping his place in Morales meticulous. His high standards are instilled in all and will be carried on.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Patricia Grewe Gregory; children, daughter, Courtney Berry and husband Steven of Edna; son, Cody Gregory and Desiree of Victoria; his doting sister, Debra Speer and husband Chuck of Edna, Modelle Foxell and husband Harry of Hope, Janice Wyman and husband Glen of Victoria; and brother Bobby Gregory and wife Dell of Edna; grandchildren Jacob, Ty, and Mollie Hastings of Edna, and Colton Wayne Gregory of Victoria. Wayne also left behind his loyal dachshund Lola who stayed beside him throughout his entire illness.

He is preceded in death by parents; sisters Pasty Budd, Hazel Anderson, and brother Carl Klimitchek.

Visitation was July 7 from 5-7 p.m. at Oaklawn Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna. Bural followed at Salem Cemetary in Ezzell. 

Pallbearers were Cody Gregory, Tim Hadley, J.R. Chase, Ronnie Berry, David Grewe and Darrell Ferguson. 

Honorary pallbearers are his caregivers Mendy Hart, Elaine Hubbell, Derek Speer and Courtney Berry.

He was very loved and will greatly missed.
