Charles Silliman

Charles "CW" Silliman, 90 passed away Sunda,y May 26, 2013. He was born in Ganado on Feb. 12, 1923 to the late Wayne and Lillian Gary Silliman. He was a MP in the Pacific Theater, with the 8th Army headquarters in New Guinea, Philippines and Japan. He was in charge of General Robert L. Eichelberg's escort, a man "CW" greatly admired. "CW" taught public school for 42 years, he never had a student he did not like.
"CW" is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jimmie Short Silliman, his son, Bill and wife Gail Silliman, and a grandson, Case Wayne Silliman. He will be greatly missed by many.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Ganado Funeral Home, 800 So. Third St.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29 with Rev. Dale White and Rich Dubroc officiating at the Ganado Cemetery. Military honors will handled by Ganado American Legion Post 346.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Ganado.
Services are under the direction of Ganado Funeral Home, 800 So. Third St., 361-771-2120.
