Wilburn Lambert
Wilburn Ray Lambert, 76, of Edna went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 2, 1940, in Hubbard, Texas, to the late Edward Eugene Lambert and Irene Motley Lambert. Wilburn served in the U.S. Army. After he left the Army he worked at multiple chemical plants, was self employed for several years, and worked for Edna ISD before retiring. Wilburn loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially football and golf. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be truly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Beverly Fojtik Lambert; daughter, “Jan” Lizabeth Owens; sons, Justin Lambert, Jon Lambert and his wife Gaylynn, Lance Lambert, Richie Fojtik and his wife Melissa; sister, Helen Stringham; brother, Jerry Lambert and his wife Becky; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Wilburn is preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Lambert and Robert Lambert. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel of Edna. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel of Edna. Rev. David Murff, Joe McClanahan, and Pastor Billy Mack Waller will be officiating. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna. Pallbearers will be Billy Mack Waller, Michael Fojtik, Joe Manuel Gonzales, Timothy Gonzales, Randy Matus, and Isabel Mesa. Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna 361-782-2221.
