JCHD expands its charity care

More county residents will have access to health care at the Jackson County Hospital after directors approved changes to its criteria for the Community Assistance Program at the April 25 monthly meeting.
According to Bill Jones, CEO and administrator, deductions for charity care are trending lower than in 2012, lowering the hospital district’s cost of charity care. Jones proposed expanding the program from 150 percent of poverty level to 200 percent of poverty level to include more people in the program while reducing the program expense.
