Regina Brooks

Regina Laverne Brooks, of Edna, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the age of 54. She was born in Ganado, on Sept. 20, 1961, to the late LV Brooks and Ruth Delores Barnes Brooks.     Regina is survived by her brothers, Jonathan W. Brooks, Gregory L. Brooks of Utopia, and Leonard V. Brooks of Wylie. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.     Regina graduated from Edna High School and attended Wharton County Junior College.  She  was a member of Gideon Baptist Church.     In addition to her parents, Regina is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.     Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 14 in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery with Rev. Walter Gant, Jr. officiating.     Pallbearers are Robert Brooks, Douglas Gaskin, Desmond Gaskin, Bryce Gaskin       Honorary pallbearers are Billy Ray Gaskin, Cleophaus Brown Jr., Timothy Brown, Byron Bryant, Horace Evans Jr., Douglas Wilson and George Storey.     Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna. 361-782-2221.
