Top spellers win bee

   Students from Edna, Industrial, and Ganado schools lined up and competed in the 27th Annual Jackson County Spelling Bee on Feb. 1 in the Edna Elementary Cafeteria. 
   Junior champion Samuel Kurtz won in six rounds with the word “chutney,” while Senoir champion Kaydence Chiles won in four rounds with the word “iguana.” Both champions were awarded Kindle Fire Tablets. Junior runner up Kenny Williams and Senior runner up Donovan Stafford were presented with $25 Wal Mart gift cards. 
   Prizes were donated by the Jackson County Herald-Tribune.
   Chiles and Kurtz will advance to the Regional Spelling Bee on Tuesday, March 22 in Victoria at the Victoria College Johnson Symposioum Center. The event begins at 6 p.m.
