Early morning crash victim identified

An Edna woman who died in a Victoria County wreck has been identified as 29-year-old Michelle Raybon. Shortly before 7 a.m. on Dec. 16, Raybon’s SUV struck the back of a Stiles 18-wheeler on Hwy 59 Northbound.
What exactly happened to cause Raybon's vehicle to hit the truck is unknown, according to Detective Tanya Brown, Victoria Police Department’s Public Information Officer.
Brown said both vehicles were traveling north on Hwy. 59 when Raybon’s Hyundai rear-ended the 18-wheeler.
Raybon was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18 wheeler was not injured and a commercial inspection of the truck by Texas Department of Public Safety revealed zero violations. No charges were filed related to the crash.
Raybon was a 2005 graduate of Edna High School and a third grade teacher at Edna Elementary School.
