Ruby Espinoza

Ruby Garza Espinoza, of Edna, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at the age of 62. She was born Feb. 5, 1953, in Ganado to the late Domingo and Maria Cruz Garza.

Ruby worked as a homemaker for many years. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Ruby was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend who will be missed dearly.  

She is survived by her mother, Maria Cruz Garza; daughters Lucy Espinoza of Victoria, Naomi E. Jacinto (Hector) of Edna, Dora E. Gonzalez (Jason Rendon) of Victoria; sisters, Dominga Salazar (Raymond) of Bay City and Esther Ortiz (Stanley) of Austin; brothers, Juan Domingo Garza (Esmeralda) of Houston, Tommy Garza, Sr. (Elizabeth) of Bay City, Armando Berrera (Stephanie) of Houston, Pascual Salinas of Edna; longtime companion, Adan Castro of Edna; grandchildren, Sara Lisa Gonzalez, Sebastian Lee Gonzalez, Syrena Jae Villela, Summer Rae Villela, and Gideon Charl Jacinto; numerous nieces and nephews and many loving family members and friends.

Ruby is preceded in death by her father; husband, Francisco Espinoza.

Visitation was held on Monday, Nov. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna with the Rev. Michael Petering  officiating. Burial followed at Latin American Cemetery in Edna. 

Pallbearers were Gabriel Garza, Elijah Garza, Tommy Garza, Jr., Joe Ramirez, Jr., Oscar Robert Garza, Ray Castro, Roy Castro, Justin Yendrey, Stanley Burse and Jimmy Wheeler, III. Honorary pallbearers were all of the grandchildren and Kenny Whittley.
