Oscar "Cats" National, 71, formerly of Oakland, Calif., passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. He was born March 6, 1942, to the late R. T. National Sr. and Velma L. Brown National of Edna. He was a roofer.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Joyce "Lillie" National of Edna; daughters, Lisa Robinson National, Paulette E. National, Shanel Hardaway, all of Edna, and Carla Renee National of Oakland, Calif.; son, Sebert National of Edna; sisters, Ella Mae Lescuer of Corpus Christ and Ilene Barnes of Edna; brothers, Leo National of Oakland, Calif. and R. T. National Jr. of Corpus Christi; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Cado, Edward and Claudius National; and sister, Mamie L. National.
Memorial services were held Friday, March 29 at Faith Temple COGIC in Edna.
