Jacinto P. “Chico” DeLeon, of Edna, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at the age of 80. He was born July 3, 1935, in Vanderbilt, to the late Isabel DeLeon and Maria Partida DeLeon.
Chico worked as a truck driver for Texas Trading Company for many years, He retired from Case International after several years. Chico was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly.
Chico is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nora (Sanchez) DeLeon; Sons, Jacinto (Jimmy) and Juan Jose (Johnny Joe) DeLeon of Edna; granddaughters, Stefanie (Mario) Mojica, Jennifer (Derrick) Ramos all of Edna; grandsons, JJ DeLeon, Nathaniel DeLeon; great-grandchildren, Adrian (Giselle) DeLeon, Alexis Mojica, Justin Romas, Meleak Romas, Christopher DeLeon, Matthew DeLeon, Kaidyn DeLeon; great-great-grandson, Xaine DeLeon; brothers, Benito DeLeon of Tahoka, Marcelino (Bay) DeLeon of Edna, Isabel Jr. DeLeon of Grand Prairie; sisters, Georgia (Rosa) Sanchez of Edna, Romona Herrera of Lubbock, San Juana Ta Soria of Burlinton, Wa.; numerous nieces and nephews and many loving family members and friends.
Chico is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Martin and Daniel DeLeon, sister, Fabina DeLeon.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. with the Rev. Michael Petering officiating. Burial to follow in the Latin American Cemetery in Edna.
Pallbearers will be JJ DeLeon, Nathaniel DeLeon, Adrian DeLeon, Justin Romas, Mario Mojica and Derrick Ramos. Honorary Pallbearers are Alexis Mojica, Meleak Ramos, Christopher DeLeon, Matthew DeLeon, Kaidyn DeLeon and Xaine DeLeon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna 361-782-2221.
