Edna tennis teams place

    The Edna junior varsity and varsity tennis teams competed in a Refugio tournament from March 5-6.
    In the boys doubles, team Carlos Romero and Jacob Jalomo placed 1st by beating Tilden 8-4, Edna’s John Crow and Corey Siecko 8-6, and Tivoli 8-6. Team Tristan Kucera and Mauro Segundo placed 3rd by beating Skidmore 8-1, Woodsboro 8-0, and losing to Tivoli 5-8 and Edna’s Crow and Siecko 8-2.
    Crow and Siecko beat Skidmore 8-5 and lost to Edna’s Romero and Jalomo and Kucera and Segundo. Team Shane Darilek and Orlando Macias lost to Tivoli 0-8 and beat Woodsboro 8-4.
    In the girls doubles, team Jessica Granados and Aaliyah Thompson lost to Tivoli 0-8, and beat Edna’s team Laura Garcia and Zithlali Calzada 8-5. Garcia and Calzada lost to Refugio 4-8 and to Edna’s team.
    In the mixed category, team Daniel Silva and Amber Palacios lost to Refugio 1-8 and beat Woodsboro 8-5.
    In the varsity boys doubles, Brandon Nidey and Hunter Green placed 2nd by beating Sinton 8-1, Refugio 8-2 and losing to Port Aransas 3-8. Team Matthew White and Holton Newbern beat Tivoli 8-4 and lost to Refugio 3-8.
    In the boys singles, Matteo Plotini beat Sinton 8-2 and lost to Skidmore 4-8.
    The Edna tennis teams will compete in Hallettsville on Tuesday and Thursday, March 24 and 26
