Local boat ramp burglar arrested

Victoria’s Brandon De La Garza, 18, was arrested on Dec. 17 for a series of vehicle burglaries at Garcitas Creek boat ramp and Lavaca River boat ramp that stemmed from Dec. 3 to Dec.16.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason McCarrell said an officer identified and arrested De La Garza during a stake out at Garcitas Creek boat ramp. The suspect was arrested for 10 vehicle alleged burglaries. McCarrell said all of the burglaries took place sometime during the morning or afternoon while fishermen were out on their boats.
Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Darren Stancik had issued two felony warrants for theft and eight misdemeanor warrants, seven of those for vehicle burglaries, McCarrell said.
