Firefighters put out fire at apartment complex

Edna firefighters, police and Jackson County Sheriff's Department responded to a small fire at Cottonwood Apartments in Edna about 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 15. There were no injuries. The fire was started when some items were left on a stove.
