City of Edna to sponsor Halloween on Main

Edna City Council members approved sponsorig Halloween on Main this year in downtown Edna. The event, which was suspended last year due to lack of a sponsor, takes place down the center of town on Halloween night. The city will ask TxDOT to close 3 blocks of Main St. from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31. City Secretary Becky Miska said she and another city employee polled downtown businesses and a majority said they would participate in distributing candy to trick-or-treaters. Limited to age 12 and under, children are encouraged to dress in costume. See the Oct. 15 issue of the Jackson County Herald-Tribune for more information.
