Truman Brasuell

    Truman Lee Brasuell, of Edna, Tx, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at the age of 92.  He was born March 9, 1922, in Stockdale.
    Truman served in the U. S. Army in the Horse Calvary. He worked as a painter, sandblaster for Union Carbide for 25 years. He was a Boy Scout leader and in the V.F.W. of Lolita, and a life time member of the Mustang Square Dancers, he was also a member of The Trinity Episcopal Church of Edna. Truman was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed.   
    He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Mercer and husband Thad of Ganado; son, Richard Brasuell and wife Jeannie of Ganado, sister; Ova Mae Lunday; grandchildren, Michelle and Daryl Bickford, Eric and Tammy Filkins, Renee and Doug McCarty, Pam and Chris Skrouppa, Danna and David Blaylock, Amy and Bryon Obannion, Jake Matijcek, Colin and Tabitha Marshall, Jessica and Wes Chaney, Eileen and Eric Baskett and Richard Brasuell, Jr.; 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren,  numerous nieces and nephews.
    Truman is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Anna Marie Potschernick; sisters, Lela Irene Mills, Ruby Clark and  Opal Seideman; step-sister, Lenora Hill and Vivan Morris; brothers, Otis Brasuell, Vernon Brasuell, Clifton Brasuell and Welton Brasuell; step-brother, Herbert “Sun” Lutz .
    Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 5-7 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel Edna. Funeral service will be Thursday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Heinold will be officiating. Assisting Rev. Heinold will be Layreader of The Trinity Episcopal Church of Edna, Harrison Stafford. Burial with full military honors will follow at Red Bluff Cemetery in Lolita.
    Pallbearers will be Ricky Brasuell, Jr., Eric Filkins, Daryl Bickford, Colin Marshall, Eric Baskett and Wes Chaney. Honorary pallbearers are Bailey Filkins, Colby Carrier, Chris Boswell, Luke Bieck, Sam McCarty, Taylor Chaney, Corbin Olson, Carter Baskett, Colin Baskett and Jake Mateijcek.
    In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Accolade Hospice, 3410 John Stockbauer # C, Victoria, Texas, 77901 or please plant a tree in memory of Truman Lee Brasuell.
