TxDOT names new supervisors

The Texas Department of Transportation’s Yoakum District is pleased to announce the appointment of two longtime employees to supervisory positions in Victoria and Jackson counties, effective Monday Sept. 29.

In Victoria County, Andy Brzozowski has been selected as the Maintenance Section Supervisor for the Victoria County Maintenance Office. Andy has been with TxDOT for almost 28 years, and was the Matagorda County Maintenance Section Supervisor for the past 10 years. Andy began his TxDOT career working in the Jackson County Maintenance Office.

Andy lives in Edna with his wife, Cathy.  Their daughter, Amy, lives in Victoria.  Their son, Michael, is the Assistant Area Engineer for TxDOT’s Wharton Area Office, which is also part of the Yoakum District.  Andy enjoys life, as well as hunting, fishing, and making wine. He will soon be a grandfather.

In Jackson County, Jeffrey Gerdes has been promoted to Maintenance Section Supervisor for the Jackson County Maintenance Office. Jeff has spent his entire 16-year TxDOT career in Jackson County, having held such positions as herbicide operator, crew chief, and section mechanic. For the past seven years, Jeff has held the position of Assistant Maintenance Supervisor.

 Jeff and his wife Samantha live in Edna with their three children: Hannah, 18; Sarah, 15; and Riley, 14. Jeff’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
