Mary Lydia Galvan-Gonzales
Mary Lydia Galvan-Gonzales, of Edna, passed away Sept. 26, 2014, at the age of 63. She was born Jan. 18, 1951, in Edna to the late Pete Lugo and Minnie Garza.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister whom will be missed dearly. Her time on earth was cherished by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years Miguel Galvan-Gonzales; daughters, Blanca Galvan and fiance Juan Galarza of Victoria and Felicia Galvan and fiance Joe Loera of Austin; son, McKensey Corey Romo of Dallas; sister, Eva Ramirez (Jesse) of Edna; brothers, Frank Hernandez (Diane) of Edna, Rudy Hernandez (Dora) of Port Lavaca and Joe Lugo, Sr. of Vanderbilt; grandchildren Michael Austin Hernandez of Edna and Sean Loera of Austin.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Fred Montelongo, sister, Lupe Hernandez; brothers, Ricardo Hernandez, Tony Hernandez and John Hernandez.
Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael A. Hernandez, Sean Loera, Justin Gilmore, Sterling Watson, Woodrow Hernandez, McKensy C. Romo, Joleah Jackson, Letty Gonzales, Joe Loera, Juan Galarza, Cristina Robles, Jessica Watson, Beth Thompson, Lupe Callis and Memry Gilmore.
