Robinson takes plea in death of his infant son

Christian Blair Robinson, 23, accepted a plea bargain on June 20, pleading guilty to injury to a child under age 14 and was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the death of his son Camden.
Robinson was arrested July 29, 2010 after his 5-month old son was hospitalized in Victoria on July 14 for head and internal injuries. The infant was later transferred to Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi where he died on July 16.
The Nueces County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be “abusive head trauma.”
Robinson was originally charged with capital murder of an individual under age 6. Under state law, Robinson would have been eligible for the death penalty if found guilty.
