Ganado farmer trapped by rising flood waters

A monstrous amount of rain left 81-year-old Jimmie Hubenak of Ganado stranded in his barn on Memorial Day. Massive flooding prevented him from exiting the barn and led to a rescue effort by the Ganado Fire Department.
“I don’t think it ever got this big,” Hubenak said of the rising water in the creek that separated the barn from his home. “It was amazing how strong the water was.”
