Paul Muschalek

    Paul Muschalek, of Edna, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the age of 83.  He was born in LaSalle on Jan. 25, 1931, to the late John and Victoria Jendrzey Muschalek.
    Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He worked at Mercer Construction and G&M Construction for many years. Paul loved being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and gardener. He spent most his days outside in the yard with his wife and dog. He loved his polka music. He was a devout Catholic and member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was a proud member of the Silver Tops coffee club in Hillje and never missed a Tuesday morning with his group. He will be truly missed by all.
    Paul is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mildred Holub Muschalek; daughters, Monica Valenzuela (David) of El Toro, Paula Muschalek of Edna, Renee Johnson (Russell) of Edna and Cheryl Salziger (Kyle) of Victoria; sons, John Muschalek (Lori) of Edna, Ronnie Muschalek (Cynthia) of El Toro and Thomas Muschalek (Christy) of Edna; sisters, Marie Jones of Victoria and JoAnne Smiga of Inez; brothers, Martin Muschalek of Edna, Dennis Muschalek of Edna and David Muschalek of Victoria; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Dorothy Susil, Elizabeth Boyd and Anne Stowe; brothers, Frank Muschalek and Louis Muschalek.
    Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Saturday, May 10 with a Rosary to be recited at 10 a.m. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna.  Burial will be at Red Bluff Cemetery, in Lolita. Rev. Michael Petering will  officiate.
    Pallbearers will be B.J. Muschalek, Scott Muschalek, Jace Muschalek, Brandon Muschalek, Kyle Muschalek, D.J. Valenzuela, Jeremy Johnson and Tyler Muschalek. Honorary pallbearers are all of Paul’s great-grandchildren.
