Goats plus milk equals a winning combination

    If you’ve never used goat’s milk soap, you have a delicious treat awaiting you. Just ask Gail Lawrence. The Ganado native and her miniature goats at 4 Pound Ranch, are producing a wide variety of goats milk soap that is becoming very popular with the people in Jackson County.
    According to Lawrence, the difference is in the feel of the soap, its suds, and the way it moisturizes and scents the body. She said the quality of the soap is intensified because of the goat’s milk.
    Lawrence, owner of 4 Pound Ranch, came up with the name when she bought her first set of miniature goats and they all weighed right around four pounds. She got her first trio of goats in 2010, and started figuring out a market for them. 4 Pound Ranch also has chickens and rabbits roaming around as well.
