Florence Buerger Henske

Florence Buerger Henske, 86, of Eagle Lake passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 in El Campo. She was born Aug. 19, 1930 to the late Henry and Mary Buerger.
On Sept. 26, 1948 she married Fred Henske in New Wehdem, Texas. The couple lived in Ganado a number of years where she was employed as a nurse, They moved to Eagle Lake in 1965 where she continued as a nurse for Dr. Raymond Thomas, and Jose Ugarte. She also was a nurse in Sealy then was a lab technician for Riceland up until she retired. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary Post in Ganado, East Bernard, and El Campo.
She is survived by sons and daughters in law, Jerry Henske and wife, Linda of Banquete, Mike Henske and wife, Penny of Eagle Lake, Mark Henske and wife, Anita of Eagle Lake, sister-in-law, Annie Mae Buerger of Brenham, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother Glenwood Buerger; brother-in-law James (JD) Henske; sister-in-laws Vera Henske and Jeanette Anderson and brother-in-law Preston Anderson.
Pallbearers were Robert Henske, Ryan Henske, Kevin Henske, Jeff Stivors, Tristan Stivors, and Peter Canaris. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Epps, Larry Dulany, Gus Svatek, Mitch Henske, and Frank Tate.
Funeral Sservices were held at Eagle Lake Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Kethan, Sr. of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus officiating. Graveside services followed in Lakeside Cemetery in Eagle Lake.
