Manuel Hernandez

Manuel G. Hernandez, 64, formerly of Edna, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017. He was born on Dec. 6, 1952 in Edna, to Jose Maria Hernandez, Sr. and Eusebia Barrientes Hernandez.
He will always be remembered by his big smile carried day by day, even if he was having a bad day. He had the biggest heart and he touched everybody with his kindness. His family was his everything, his most important asset.
Manuel is survived by his daughters, Brandy Dickerson and granddaugher Heaven Dickerson of Winter Haven, Fla., and Raquel Salazar of Victoria; son Marcus Hernandez of Victoria; also two granddaughters and three grandsons.
He is also survived by his brothers, Felix Hernandez, Tommy (Jovita) Hernandez, Johnny Hernandez, Jesse (Terry) Hernandez, Emilio (Angie) Hernandez, and Domingo (Michelle) Hernandez; also his sisters: Janie (Rudy) Saldierna, Amelia (Manuel) Zarate, and Mary Linda (Pete) Sertuche. Manuel is also survived by his 200-plus nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, his son Santana Hernandez, and his siblings, Lupe Zamora, Lucio Hernandez, Joe Hernandez, Raymond Hernandez and Ignacio "Nacho" Hernandez.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at Slavik ~ Edna Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m.
