Patricia Ann Hyden

Patricia 'Patty' Ann Hyden passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 at home with her family in Edna, at the age of 82. She was born in Longview on Sunday, Jan. 20, 1935 to Beverly Louise and Kenneth Bowman 'KB' Snider.
She graduated from Longview High School in 1953, her dad was transferred to Premont, Texas and she attended Texas A&I in Kingsville, where she met her future husband. She married Bailey Bryan Hyden in Premont on Nov. 12, 1955, they shared 61 years together.
They moved to Edna in May 1961, where they became Edna Cowboy fans in the mid 60s and supported them for 30 years.
Patty is survived by her husband; her daughter Beverly (Joe Mack) Wittenburg, and her son Brian Hyden. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Jaime Rea, KB (Brooke) DeBord, Jake (Chelsea) Wittenburg, Amanda (Jake) Compton, Jacob (Kristan) DeBord, Jodi DeBord, Amy (Jake) Chambless, Jordyn Hyden, Laynee Hyden, and Paige Allen. Granny also boasted 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Beverly Linney of Spring, Margaret (Terry) Kahn of Austin, her step-sister Stephanie Dean of Colorado; and one brother Ken (Marcia) Snider of Wylie.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Blanche Snider, and one great-granddaughter Presley Rose DeBord.
Visitation is Friday, Feb. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Slavik Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at Robison Street Church of Christ in Edna with Phillip Stuckey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Texas, 605 E. Locust Ave., Victoria, TX 77901.
Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Slavik~Edna Funeral Home, 361-782-2152.
