Cobras get bugged by Raiders

By Millie Diaz

Industrial found themselves shut out against the Rice Raiders tonight with a final score of 31-0. The Cobras began their game with positive drives to get the near the Rice end zone, but were stalled in actually getting there.

Avery Milner was doing what he could with the help of Jesse Rodriguez and Logan Gabrysch, but the Cobras were lacking in finishing their drives.

Rice wasn't able to score in the first quarter, but did within a few second of the second. They continued their lead with seven minutes left in the the second, and after a Cobra turnover the Raiders were able to kick a field goal before the half.

They won, but not without numerous penalities in the form of false starts, holding and offsides. The Cobras could not capitalize on Rice's mistakes, and began to make mistakes of their own. A fumble on a snap from Industrial after Rice scored in the third quarter made it difficult for the Cobras to find a way to shine.

Rice scored again in the fourth quarter to bring the score to its finality, 31-0. The win gives Rice a 3-0 in district play and 0-2 for the Cobras.
