Cowboys keep Sharks underwater

    The Edna Cowboys pick up their second district win on the road against the Palacios Sharks, 31-6.

    After a bit of a slow start, the Cowboys put the first points on the scoreboard with a 25 yard field goal by #55 Ronaldo Saenz. Quarterback Landon O'Connor found good running room for a 27 yard touchdown run with 5:31 left in the first quarter, with the extra point by #84 Sam Shook making the score 10-0.

    The first quarter yielded one more Cowboy touchdown when #21 Kenny Haynes ran in from the 18 yard line with 3:59 left in the first. Another good extra point by #84 Shook made the score 17-0 at the end of the first quarter of play.

    #29 Deion Callis chipped in on the scoring with an 18 yard touchdown run with 5:55 left in the first half, making the halftime score Edna 24, Palacios 0.

    #29 Callis came up big with an interception with 2:56 left in the 3rd. #21 Haynes found good running room from 38 yards out for his second touchdown of the night. #55 Saenz came with the extra point increasing the Cowboy lead to 31-0.

    The Sharks finally found the end zone with 1:55 left in the game. Their two-point try was no good, and brought the final score to Edna Cowboys 31, Palacios Sharks 6.

    The Edna Cowboys will face the Van Vleck Leopards back at home next Friday October 14.
