Freddie Mascheck

    Our “Mama” Freddie Mascheck went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at the age of 74, surrounded by those who loved her dearly. She was born on Feb. 15, 1942, to Joseph Allen Teague and Lorene Kirby Teague in Kermit, Texas.       On March 14, 1960, Freddie married the love of her life, Travis Mascheck and shortly moved to Edna. Upon arriving in Edna she had several employment opportunies working in the county for the Ford Motor Company, the County Tax Office, Jackson Electric Coop., and also a full time partner in business with her husband Travis. It wasn’t until later in life that she was able to fulfill her calling as an activity director in doing what she loved best, “helping others”.     From an early age mama developed a love of music and oh, how she could sing! She played by ear and could pick up just about any instrument and go to town on it, but her love had to be the accordion! She also loved volunteering at local nursing homes and churches where she would sing and play music about our Lord and Savior. What an exceptional women she was, if only we all could be so good like her, what a world we would have,       Freddie Gene Mascheck is survived by her children, daughters Tracy Faye Olivarez and husband James of Austin and Tricia Kuhlman of Edna; son, Shane Mascheck and wife Cynthia of Edna. In addition, she was also, blessed with bonus children, daughters, Micky Lynch of Beeville, Becky Millican and husband Steve of Flower Bluff, Colo., Sherry Mascheck of Dallas; son, Lynn Mascheck and wife Kara of San Antonio; and grandchildren Dillon Kuhlman, Westin Galleymore, Lauren Galleymore, Neil Mascheck and Heidi Mascheck.     In addition to her parents, Freddie is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Travis Mascheck; daughter, Sheila Mascheck; sister, Betty Green of San Angelo; and brother Charles Allen Teague of San Angelo.     Visitation was held on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel of Edna. Pastor’s Billy Teague, Larry Green, and Mike Teague will be officiating. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna.     Pallbearers will be Lynn Mascheck, David Rose, David Egg, Troy Quinn, Kipp Galleymore, and Mike Myers.     Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna 361-782-2221.
