Lions donate flags

    The Lions Club of Ganado recently participated in the Warriors Field of Honor in Victoria that honors the past, present and deceased members of the military with the posting of a flag in their remembrance.
    Ganado Lions purchased 50 American flags honoring military personnel who will be coming for a weekend of fishing at Port O’Connor beginning May 19.
    There are approximately 3,300 flags that were posted on May 7 at Parkway Church on John Stockbaur and Salem Road, and will remain through the Memorial Day weekend.
    This spectacular display of American flags are lighted nightly with a 30-foot cross in the middle that is brilliantly lit with red, white and blue.
    Also each night at 7 p.m. a memorial service will be held with music, prayers, and singing in honor of the U.S. Military with a rendition of TAPS at approximately 9 p.m.
