Vote for bonds, board members this Saturday

    Polling places across the county will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. 
    Voters will decide on bonds for district improvements for Industrial and Ganado ISDs. There are also elections for Jackson County Hospital board directors and a contested race for Edna ISD trustee.
    The polling places are the same ones that are used for county elections. Information on the voters card issued by the Jackson County Voter Registrar will show individuals where to cast their ballots for each election. For questions on voters cards call 782-3473.
    Ganado ISD voters will decide on a $24.4 million bond referendum. The polling place is the J.P. Office in Ganado.
    Industrial ISD voters will also decide on a $25 million bond referendum. Polling places will be Pct. 4, the LaWard Fire Hall, Pct. 5, Vanderbilt Fire Hall, Pct. 7, Francitas Fire Hall, and Pct. . 8,  Lolita Fire Hall. Voters who live in Pct. 27 will vote at the Inez Fire Hall.
    Edna ISD voters in Precinct 1 and Precinct 3 will vote at the County Services Building or Chamber. On the ballot are William E. Alex and Leslie Kallus who are running for the District 6 trustee position. Only voters whose card says ES6 are eligible to vote.
    There are four seats on the Jackson County Hospital District board that are up for grabs. 
    Voters in Pct. 1 will vote at the County Services Building. The candidates are Elida Benavides and Jimmie D. Kaelin. 
    Voters in Pct. 2 will vote at the J.P. Office in Ganado. Candidates are Janet Chanek and Jose Rodriguez. 
    Voters in Pct. 3 will vote at the Chamber. Voters in Pct. 5 will vote at the Vanderbilt Fire Hall. The candidates are Frank Condron and Tommy Srp. 
    Voters in Pct. 4 will vote at the LaWard Fire Hall, voters in Pct. 6 will vote in the courthouse lobby. Voters in Pct. 7 will vote at the Francitas Fire Hall, Pct. 8 will vote at the Lolita Fire Hall and Pct. 9 will vote at the Carancahua Community Center. Candidates are Jerry Adelman, Barbara Durocher, and Willard Ulbricht.
    Results will be posted on the  website www.jacksonconews.com as soon as they become available after the polls close on Saturday.
