James "Dale" Crawford

James “Dale” Crawford, age 85, a resident of Kingsland, died Thursday, March 31, 2016, in the Heart Hospital of Austin. Dale was born in East Point, La.
He had a long and successful career with Mobil Exploration & Producing, starting at the age of 18. He loved the company and the many friends he made along the way. He retired in 1992 and was very proud when Mobil Oil honored him and his family for 145 years of service beginning with his stepfather Albert Golson and his two sons Roger and Donald Crawford. Donald continued another 24 years, retiring in 2015.
Dale and his wife, Natalie, enjoyed 23 years of retirement to their fullest. They chose Llano for its beautiful hills and river.  He chose a home on the Llano River, where he could share his love for family, friends and food.  Every spring, Dale and Natalie would host a Blue Bonnet picnic weekend for all of his church family and their friends. This fellowship left lasting memories for all involved.
His first love for his Lord and Savior provided guidance for him and his family through the years. The “one thing needful” kept the family close.
He is survived by his wife Natalie, children: Roger (Vickie), Donald (Lillian) Nanette Slaton (Gary), five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his older brother, Duane and his first-born daughter, Connie “CJ”.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Edna with the Rev. Andrew Schroer officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Living Word Academy of Marble Falls, Texas.
