Indians learn curve

Bridges came in for the save in one inning and had one strikeout.
Head Coach Kris Cavazos said the team has had their struggles early on in district by executing a lot of errors both mentally and physically. “I believe a lot of it has to do with the learning curve and how far they are behind knowing the game. So they’re thinking too much instead of having fun, reacting to the situation and playing the game,” he said. “We let Schulenburg slip away from us in our second district game after I thought five good innings against Shiner the game before that.”
Cavasos said in the game against Fayetteville started off well but the team got complacent and the snow ball effect came out, with the team getting another seven errors and down four runs.
“I challenged them to cut the score in half by the 7th inning to give us a chance and have faith in themselves and teammates and we can do this. They answered by scoring two runs and another three runs in the top of the 7th inning to take the lead,” he said. “Hopefully that game will be our turning point of our season. We’ve came a long way and still have a long way to go but soon as these boys buy in and have faith in themselves, their teammates and myself, we will be in the playoffs.”
