Bobby Ray Goff Mashaw

Bobby Ray Goff Mashaw, died Friday, March 25 in Ganado where he has resided for the past four years.
Bobby was born June 9, 1953 in Charleston, Ark., but grew up in San Marcos. Upon graduation from San Marcos High School in 1972, Bobby attended A&M University where he graduated from Fireman School. After graduation, he was employed by the San Marcos Fire Department. Following his employment in San Marcos, he joined the Harris County Fire Fighters Association and was a fireman and EMT for Spring Branch and Bellaire Fire Departments of Houston. In 1980, Bobby was employed by Southern Pacific Transportation Company as a brakeman. In the late 80s he was a contractor/carpenter building homes in New Mexico, Arizona, and South Texas. Upon his return to Texas, he moved to Brackenridge State Park in Edna where he served as “Camp Host” until he became ill. Bobby loved greeting and helping campers enjoy the beauty of the camping experience. He enjoyed getting to know people from all around the state.
He is survived by his sister, Sharon Whitley, husband Henry Whitley, Jr. of Edna, nephews Clay Whitley, and wife, Worth Whitley, and Jake Whitley and wife, Stephanie Whitley, all of Edna; niece Susan Whitley Eidson and husband, Lee Eidson of Pearland; great-nephews William Eidson, Luke Eidson, Noah Eidson, and Mac Oyler; great-nieces Lucy Whitley, Madeline Whitley, Anna Correll Stuart, Crystal Goff and Nicole Cloyd.
Bobby is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Marie Bolton Goff, father, Gilbert Mashaw, stepfather, Vendle LL Goff, brother, Ricky Joe Goff, and daughter, Marcia Lynn Mashaw.
A memorial service will be held at Memory Lawn in San Marcos at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 2.
