Roger Lewis "Louie" Christy

Roger Lewis (Louie) Christy, Sr., 51, of Edna, Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
Louie was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, crawpaw (grandpa), brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Louie loved all of his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandchildren. Louie loved spending the weekends in San Antonio with his family. Louie enjoyed attending flea markets and living his life to the fullest. One of Louie's favorite things to do was watch KU Jayhawks basketball, especially with his dad.
Louie grew up in Missouri, and moved to Texas; where he met his wife Shannon. Louie worked hard, which allowed him to graduate with his Associate Degree in Instrumentation. Louie was the heart and soul of his family, and would do anything for anyone. Louie was a wonderful human being, generous and charming to all, and had a great sense of humor. He will always be remembered by those who were honored enough to know him. Louie would always make sure to tell his family and some friends that he loved them. Louie will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife: Shannon Christy, (Powers), parents, Roger and Janice Christy, Cathy and Ed Justus and Corky and Jean Powers; his children Roger Christy, Jr.(Lesli), Tanguery Christy (Maxine), Geoffrey Christy (Melissa), Breanna Beckley, Blake Sbrusch (Brittany), and Clint Sbrusch; grandchildren Ayden, Bentley, Arabella, Alize`, Trillion, Action, Cash, Ashton, Priest, Kati, and Jaidyn; siblings Bambi, Jamie McKinstry, Angela Christy, Heather Christy, Chris Christy, Becky Clark, Shelly Smith, Thomas Wething, and Patrick Wething. Louie is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Louie was preceded in death by his grandparents Lewis and Jewell Christy; his brother Lokilo Christy; and son-in-law, Arthur Jackson, Jr.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 29 at 10 a.m. at Slavik Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Tompkins officiating. Interment followed at Memory Gardens of Edna.
Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish at Slavik Funeral Home, Edna, 361-782-2152.
